Data4Water: BWI thanks ESA:

Data4Water, a project undertaken by BWI with the help of ESA, to help alleviate water resource stress induced in the Godavari basin

We express our gratitude to ESA for their valuable financial and technical support! It has been pivotal in advancing BWI‘s commitment to digitizing the Godavari River. With Data4Water, our joint mission aims to alleviate water resource stress induced by irrigation throughout the Godavari River basin.

We’re honored by the announcements of the CEO Water Mandate’s Water Resilience Coalition made at #COP28 about Data4Water too!

What is Data4Water?

Data4Water is an exciting project of BWI’s funded by European Space Agency‘s (ESA) Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) programme. It is a feasibility study on the Godavari river basin which is based in India. Furthermore, the Godavari basin is regarded as 1 of the 100 priority basins according to the Water resilience Coalition. The objective is to understand how the river discharge and related measurements could address water related challenges in the region. Moreover, more than 60 million people depend on the Godavari basin, therefore it holds a particularly high significance. BWI is proud to have the opportunity to contribute to aiding millions of people in the basin through it’s services.

Did you know? The total length of Godavari from its origin to outfall is close to 1500km.

Moreover, since India has a high hydro potential, and there is a lack of monitoring services in the country, this project could address several concerns such as improving living conditions and preventing natural disasters. We at BWI are very excited to venture into such exciting projects that lead not only to the expansion of our geographical scope of services, but also build new ties across the world!

BWI thanks ESA for it's assistance regarding the prestigious Data4Water project
