Meet Matteo Ciocca, Product Owner at BWI. With a PhD in robotics and a passion for turning complex technology into real-world value, Matteo makes sure BWI delivers the right product for the right user at the right time. Discover his journey and what drew him to BWI.
We’re pleased to welcome Matteo Ciocca, Product Owner at BWI. With a PhD in robotics and years of experience in product leadership, Matteo bridges customers, business and engineering to turn advanced technology into solutions that create real value.
Based in Paris, Matteo, in his mid-30s, is Italian and has been living in France since 2017. He began his career as a researcher, earning a PhD in robotics, before joining a major tech company as an engineer and eventually moving into product management – a path driven by his passion for making complex science genuinely useful.
At BWI, Matteo works as a Product Owner, making sure BWI delivers the right product for the right user at the right time. It’s a cross-functional role where no two days are alike: one day is spent discussing customer needs, the next refining technical requirements and planning future product releases.
Prior to joining BWI, Matteo built his career at the intersection of science and product, from research roles in robotics to product leadership, turning difficult technical challenges into scalable, user-centered solutions.
Matteo chose to join BWI because he wanted to work for a company with a tangible impact on the planet, and to contribute beyond product management alone. What he enjoys most is the diversity of the role: working with customers, business and the engineering team, made possible by a group of remarkable international colleagues.
We’re delighted to have Matteo on board — 🎥 discover his story in the full interview!
