We’re pleased to welcome Bill Metangmo, Senior DevOps Engineer at BWI. With over 10 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure and backend engineering, Bill helps developers ship faster and keeps BWI’s platform running reliably.
Based in Paris, Bill, 33, is Cameroonian and holds an engineering degree in Computer Science and Networks from INSA Toulouse. He brings more than 10 years of experience across DevOps, infrastructure and backend engineering.
At BWI, Bill is a Senior DevOps Engineer. His role centers on two things: helping developers be more efficient across their software development lifecycle, and making sure production stays reliable. Recently, for example, he introduced metrics on the API endpoints so developers can spot and improve the ones with the highest latency, and deployed Argo CD as BWI’s GitOps platform to let the team ship features easily to the Kubernetes cluster.
Prior to joining BWI, Bill built his career across DevOps, SRE and backend roles at a range of companies and startups, working on cloud infrastructure, platform engineering and big data.
Bill chose to join BWI for two reasons: a desire to work in the dynamic environment of a startup, and the impact BWI can have on water in countries facing water stress. What he enjoys most is the team spirit among his colleagues, and working on international projects – currently with partners in Senegal and Nepal.
