Aqua Business Days 2025: BWI at the crossroads of water and energy

At Aqua Business Days 2025 in Nîmes, BWI took part in two days of exchanges on the water–energy nexus. During a dedicated micro-pitch session, our CEO Jeremy Fain highlighted how hydrological forecasting and virtual stations support run-of-river hydropower in a context of climate change.

On 11–12 December 2025, BWI took part in Aqua Business Days in Nîmes, organised by Aqua-Valley in partnership with Éa éco-entreprises. This year’s edition highlighted the interactions between water and energy—a topic that sits at the core of many climate adaptation challenges.

Our team was on-site to meet public and private stakeholders and discuss how hydrological forecasting can support more resilient, data-driven decisions across water and energy systems.

Our CEO’s pitch on Water serving energy

On the morning of 11 December, BWI CEO Jeremy Fain delivered a 3-minute micro-pitch session linked to the theme “Water serving energy”.

He focused on run-of-river hydropower and why river flow and water level variability matter operationally—especially as climate change reshapes hydrological regimes. He also introduced how BWI’s virtual stations can help operators anticipate conditions and integrate forecasts into workflows (including via API connections).

Highlights from the discussions

Beyond the pitch, Aqua Business Days was a great opportunity to exchange with organisations working on: climate adaptation and resilience, operational water management, energy performance and production, and the role of data and forecasting in day-to-day decision-making.

A big thank you to the organisers and everyone who took the time to connect with our team in Nîmes.
