On 27 January 2026, BWI brought together public and private stakeholders in Kathmandu to mark the operational launch of its hydrological forecasting services in Nepal.
On 27 January 2026, BWI hosted the Nepal Services Launch & Networking Event in Kathmandu, Nepal, marking a key milestone in the deployment of hydrological forecasting and early-warning services in Nepal.
Held under the High Patronage of Her Excellency Mrs. Virginie Corteval, Ambassador of France to Nepal, the event brought together representatives from public institutions, academia, the hydropower sector and the financial ecosystem, reflecting the growing importance of data-driven approaches for water and energy resilience.
The event followed the successful completion of Phase I of the HydroNepal project, which enabled the operational deployment of river flow forecasting and early-warning services across four major river basins: Upper Karnali, Marsyangdi, Trishuli and Dudh-Koshi.
