Introducing Issam El Kadiri – R&D Engineer

We’re pleased to welcome Issam El Kadiri, Research & Development Engineer at BWI. With a strong background in data science and applied mathematics, Issam contributes to improving BWI’s hydrological forecasting models and developing new approaches – a key element for delivering reliable river flow forecasts to our clients.

We’re delighted to welcome Issam El Kadiri to BWI as a R&D Engineer. Originally from Morocco and now based in Toulouse, Issam, 25, brings a strong foundation in data science and applied mathematics. His academic path began with preparatory classes in mathematics, physics and computer science, followed by a double engineering degree from ENSEEIHT and INSA Toulouse, specializing in mathematics, computer science, modelling and artificial intelligence.

Issam shares his journey, motivations and insights into his role at BWI.

Prior to joining BWI, Issam built solid experience applying AI to environmental data. He worked as a Data Scientist at HD Rain, and before that spent two and a half years as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Mercator Ocean International in Toulouse, working on AI applied to ocean forecasting. He also carried out research on AI-based learning systems at IRIT (Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse) — a background that translates naturally to the challenges of river flow modeling.

At BWI, Issam works as a Research & Development Engineer specializing in data science and applied mathematics. His role focuses on improving BWI’s existing hydrological forecasting models and coming up with new ideas and approaches to meet the evolving needs of our clients. It’s the scientific core of what BWI delivers: refining the models that turn satellite, meteorological and in-situ data into reliable river flow forecasts.

What he enjoys most at BWI? The level of his coworkers, the new skills he learns every day, the tangible impact of his contributions, and the work environment as a whole.

We’re proud to have Issam on board.

Welcome, Issam!
