Global events in India

India Water Week 2024

Upon his arrival, Mohamad participated in the 8th India Water Week, an event centered around the theme “Partnerships and Cooperation for Inclusive Water Development and Management”. This year’s edition served as a vital global platform for stakeholders in water management, bringing together leaders, innovators, and experts to address urgent issues in the field. The event fostered unparalleled collaboration through a diverse range of seminars, exhibitions, panel discussions, and informal networking sessions.

During the event, Mohamad had the privilege of meeting with the team from Geo Climate Risk Solutions Pvt Ltd, founded by the highly regarded and talented Prasad Babu. Their discussions were not only thought-provoking but also sparked the potential for future collaborations. We are eager to harness the combined expertise of both teams to develop sustainable solutions for pressing climate challenges.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, Government of India, for their invitation and for organizing the 8th edition of this significant four-day event. It undoubtedly strengthened the participation of international communities in advancing water and sanitation management.

World Food India 2024

Following India Water Week, Mohamad had the honor of being invited to attend World Food India 2024.

The third edition of this prestigious event was held from September 19th to 22nd at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), WFI has rapidly established itself as a leading global platform for stakeholders across the food processing value chain. World Food India 2024 showcased innovations, fostered connections, and encouraged collaboration. With a plethora of country pavilions and numerous international delegations, WFI further cemented its place as one of the largest congregations of key players in the sector.

A highlight of the event was Mohamad’s participation in a panel discussion titled Sustainable Food Value Chains: Leveraging Indigenous Technologies for Climate Resilience”. Moderated by Dr Dipankar Saharia, Senior Director at TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute), the session emphasized the critical role of innovative solutions in transforming resource management to meet future challenges. It was an honor and pleasure for Mohamad to engage with esteemed professionals such as Mr. Shantanu Sharma, Ms. Ophira Bhatia, Mr. Tuli Mandeepsingh, and Dr Alok B. Mukherjee.

Conclusion

Both events offered invaluable opportunities to connect with respected stakeholders from sectors closely linked to our most vital resource – water. Sectors such as water management, food production, fisheries, agriculture, and hydropower all gathered under one roof to discuss the interconnected challenges and opportunities they face.

We are excited to continue these transboundary conversations and turn them into collaborative solutions that will move us closer to a more sustainable future.
