BWI's team in the Salon des Communes et des Intercommunalités du Gard in Nîmes, France

BWI recently participated in the 8th Salon des Communes et des Intercommunalités du Gard, a local trade show focused on addressing challenges faced by authorities in the Gard department. Held on June 13th at the Parc des Expositions in Nîmes, the event facilitated productive discussions. Attendees such as French businesses and local authorities focused on enhancing living conditions in Gard.

Clément Xanxo, Business Development Manager, and Bianka Felnerová, Junior Communications Manager, represented BWI. They introduced our hydrological services and engaged with public decision-makers and business leaders to explore future solutions collaboratively.

At the AQUA-VALLEY collective pavilion, BWI showcased our services alongside other industry leaders. Attendees explored our basin digitisation infrastructure, featuring advanced hydrological services capable of monitoring river discharge and water levels, with predictions extending up to 10 days. Our AI-driven models demonstrate improved environmental understanding and crisis anticipation capabilities.

Furthermore, the discussions highlighted significant challenges faced by Gard’s communes and intercommunalities. Unfortunately, the risk of flooding from Mediterranean and Cévennes weather events was at the forefront of discussions several times. Interactions with local authorities highlighted two key points: the importance of our model’s responsiveness and the extensive coverage of continental water by our model in the Gard department.

Engaging with attendees provided valuable insights into Gard’s diverse needs. Our services already represent tailored solutions to many challenges, and feedback received will help refine our innovative hydrologic model further. This includes expanding data sources to enhance hydrological monitoring and prediction accuracy across various geographical areas.

The dialogues during the trade show affirmed our commitment to developing BWI’s solutions, mitigating the impacts of weather extremes, and fostering collaboration. We appreciate the insights shared at the Salon des Communes in Nîmes. They will undoubtedly help us better serve Gard and beyond in the future.
